The human controlling the drone ( (UAV) should have good experience otherwise it will lead to its destruction resulting in loss of lives, property and money. Indian Institute Of Drones ™
IID is India’s truly Drone Pilot Training centre under Government of India and is run by Military Drone Pilots certified by the Ministry of Defence. IID is affiliated with CUVSIC (Consoeilium of unmanned vehicle system India) under the ageis of International Foundation for aviation and development(IFFAAD). The training is carried out by highly qualified professionals having both unmanned and manned flying experience giving the learners an indepth knowledge of both manned and unmanned flying and how the two can be safely merged together as per the mandate circulated by DGCA. IID organises a number of courses as below-
  • Manufacturer type Training(Military UAV’s) ---
The course is designed for those pilots who wish to gain their UAV operators certificate (UAVCO). This would entail a separate course for achieving the PPL written exam and FRTOL clearance from the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation). It prepares an individual to become a full fledged operator and start the specific training to get into the UAS industry. At the end of the course and after successful completion of the manufacturers type  assessment, IID gives a certificate to this effect and an endorsement in your log book for the application of your controllers certificate.
  • Diploma in Drone Orientation--
IID has developed the course material based on DGCA guidelines to teach the basics on how to maximize the investment and minimize risk to equipment and people. The course is aimed at entry level for academic and corporate professionals.
  • Diploma in Multirotor UAV Pilot--
The course is for operators who are currently using the systems and award them the requisite certificates and endorsements
  • Diploma in Fixed Wing UAV Pilot--
The course is for operators interested in fixed wing drones. IID is the first of its third in offering training or fixed wing systems.
Drona Acharya Academy(DAA)
